"Black, the most magical of colors!  Black is cynicism and beyond.  Black is
for people who inanely believe there is a counterculture.  Black is the grandchild of beatnik.  Black loves truth and beauty, but hates the American way."
- Cynthia Heimel's Notes On Black (1991)

"The truth is we are witnessing the coming of age of a new generation of slackers.  These tyros of ennui have no time for the decorous languor of their elders.  They want to do nothing at all, and they want to do it now.  They have even begun to develop immensely sophisticated equipment in order to facilitate this advanced slacking.  I believe they call it virtual reality - I call it sitting in the corner and fidgeting."
- Will Self's Slack Attack (1994)

"God appears before me and tells me the third secret of Fatima.  Unfortunately, He raps it and I am too shy to ask Him to repeat Himself."
- Sean Hughes' Extracts From My Autobiography (1995)

The place where you can see...er, well...me and those I adore.  Pictures mostly, at that.  Ah, the internet - where those who can't write, scan.

Flowers, Madness & Polarbear Rugs - A humble galleria of the little things I make in my more creative spleen-venting moments...

Photos and things from The Society Of The Black Rose 4th Annual Evening Of Gothic Elegance

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - photographs a friend
and I took live in Sydney, 1993.

Dancing On Broken Vodka Bottles - my Duran Duran  page.  Is *nothing* too tasteless?  Apparently not.  And *yes*, I do know that Johns real name is Nigel and *no* it doesn't bother me...

Well, manuscripts and lots of other stuff as a tribute to the
legendary Ronald Searle.  Where would we (or Ralph Steadman,
for that matter) have been without him?

Illustrations and things from my very favourite grown up picture book, Herr Nightingale And The Satin Woman by William Kotzwinkle.

IIllustrations and things from my very favourite childrens picture book The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshoppers Feast by Alan Aldridge.  I have also included the lyrics to the song 'The Butterfly Ball', as sung by the always rockin' and grrrrr-ing Mr Dio.  Rock on, indeed.

Squair -  homepage of the wifes band.

Amazing Artists: Melissa Klein and Anwen Keeling.
I only did the webdesign, alas, but its the closest I am ever going to get
to this kind of aesthetic greatness : )  These girls are geniuses, and prove to be a timely reminder that not all artist are wankers.

Favourite Fearscape: my Tori Amos bootleg tradepage

Great Mysteries Of The Twentieth Century:
*Is* Tori Amos merely Bjorn Again to Kate Bush's Abba????
(high dose of silly here)

Miss Alexandra's Official Website Of The Millenium - Van's Girlplay site.
Behold - who would have ever thought the internet could be used
for something so subversive... so brilliant... so twisted?
Microsluts of the world unite!

My AGF trade page.  Lots of goodies on offer for trading, and its updated pretty regularly.

My little ebay page (for when I can be shagged trying to figure out damned currency conversions)

Links.  This is where it's all at.  Really.  Oh, bugger off then.

The title 'Parasite Lost' is taken from Susan Compo's fantastic short story 'It's Like Goth Never Happened', from her book Malingering (1993).
